Winter Park Competition CenterCross Country Ski Programs

Development Team:

  • A Learn to Ski Program, based on FUNdamentals
  • 1-Day per Week: Saturdays or Sundays -- AGES 5 andUp
  • 2-Days per Week: Saturdays & Sundays -- AGES 8 andUp
  • 1-Day Program 18 sessions / 2-Day Program 36 sessions10:00 am-12:00 noon
  • This program teaches introductory cross country skiingskills and games
  • The first 8 sessions will focus on classic skiing;then skate skiing will be introduced
Competitive Development Team:
  • A Learn to Compete Program, based on Skiing as a Sport
  • 3-Days per Week:Fri, Sat, and Sun -- AGES 9 and Up?48 sessions10:00 am - 12:00 noon
  • This program teaches skiing as a sport, and focuseson training and racing skill development
  • The goal of this program is to have fun and developlifelong skiers; the skills acquired during their skill development window will help athletes develop an aerobic and strength base
Competitive Race Team
  • A Train to Compete Program, based on Fun, Teamwork,and Competition
  • 3-Days per Week -- AGES 14 and Up?48 sessions
  • Fridays: 12:00-4:00 pm / Saturdays: 10:00 am-1:00pm / Sundays: 10:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Skiers will continue to focus on fundamentals andfun, and will be introduced to Nordic trainingand goal setting practices; athletes will gain anunderstanding of a year long training plan
  • Racing and time trials are a intrical part of this"Learn to Compete" program
  • This training program isdesigned to help athletesreach their goals & highest potential

    The 2022-23 YMCA/Snow Mtn Ranch Kids Nordic Ski Program

    Jan. 20 thru Feb 24; Fridays 1-2:30 EXCEPT for Ski for Light week February 3

    by the the Grand Nordic Ski Club

    The Kids Nordic Ski Program offers ski instruction for beginners and more accomplished skiers ages 5-10, skiing games, winter nature activities, and ends with a Nordic Ski Festival and prizes for all. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to lessons to get equipment and trail pass which are provided for the duration of the lesson. Classic, skate and never-ever lessons are available with a maximum of 20 students total.

    Parents are encouraged to help and will receive trail pass and equipment for the duration of the lesson if helping. Additional contact Grand Nordic President Diana Lynn Rau 970-887-0547.

    The Grand Lake Nordic Center Kids Ski Lesson Program 21-22

    We will continue to offer free skiing for Grand County kids with a valid Grand County school ID on Friday’s.
